KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Over 100 of the nation’s best divers have come to Knoxville to compete for their chance to represent the United States at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

The U.S. Olympic Diving Team Trials are taking place at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center at the University of Tennessee from June 17-23. Seven of the eight Olympic diving events will be contested at the trials.

Two sessions of competition will take place each day. Visit www.visitknoxville.com/usadiving for the complete schedule, tickets, and parking information. The trials will air on NBC and Peacock with USA Network also covering select events.

Knoxville has previously hosted several USA Diving national events including an Olympic team selection camp in 2008 and the 2014 Diving National Championships.

“We have such a strong aquatics community in Knoxville and are always excited to host events of this caliber along with our great partner, Tennessee Athletics,” said Chad Culver, senior director of the Visit Knoxville Sports Commission and Convention Sales, when Knoxville was named the host last year. “We’ve had the pleasure of working with USA Diving on previous events and are honored to host their crown jewel with the 2024 Olympic trials.”

Diving events at the 2024 Olympics will begin on July 27 and run through August 10. American divers won three medals at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
