NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An investigation is underway following a deadly drowning incident at Percy Priest Lake Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities said they were told a person fell off a slide of a boat, struggled in the water, and kept going under on Wednesday, Aug. 14. Members of the Metro Nashville Police Department, the Nashville Fire Department, and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) responded to the scene.

According to officials, boaters recovered the victim and CPR was performed, but medics confirmed the individual was dead.

Police told News 2 the TWRA will be handling the investigation “due to the subject drowning from a vessel.
