Leaders should show confidence, but not allow themselves to appear arrogant, which can hurt morale and demotivate employees, executives and leadership coaches say. “Arrogance tends to come through putting other people down, being dismissive, being rude, showing off, whereas confidence is about taking responsibility,” says Audrey Tang, a psychologist and leadership trainer.
